2 women drown in Thakurgaon

2 women were drowned in the Nagor river close to Dabri the border of Thakurgaon's Haripur upazila in the early hours of this morning.

They were identified by Majeda Begum (35) who is the husband of Samir Uddin of Gedura village as well as Rubina Akter (25) from Atghoria village, located within the upazila. They repot the Thakurgaon correspondent.

According to locals, SM Awrangajeb, officer-in-charge of Haripur Police Station, said that the two were drowned in the river at around 9:00 am when they were moving towards the opposite location to cut the grass to feed their animals.

Locals discovered their floating bodies in the river about 11 am The OC reported.

A case of unnatural death was reported to Haripur Police Station in this relation, the police official added.
